Samantha Roberts is a Professional Show Rider and Producer of Mountain & Moorland Ponies. Now 24 years old, she has been showing ponies since she was 9 years old. In 2004 she turned her hobby into her profession. Since 2004 she has produced a multitude of National champions and qualified the ponies for Royal International Horse Show, Horse Of The Year Show and Olympia International Horse Show.
Sam spends her summer competing all around the country in order to try to qualify for the various finals and major shows throughout the year. Through the winter she mainly has ponies in to break, back and school. Sam's yard is just outside Winchester in Hampshire, she has the use of up to 8 boxes, fields to turn them out in, an all weather surfaced arena and great hacking out along bridle paths and miles of set-aside fields. By only having 6 ponies in, this allows Sam to look after and do the ponies herself. She also believes in variety of work for ponies as this keeps them fresh and happy. 2009 was an incredible year for Sam, she qualified 12 ponies for the Royal International Horse Show and 12 for Horse of the Year Show, as well as qualifying 2 for Olympia. Champion at Royal International and 2 wins at Horse of The Year Show, as well as 5 wins at the National Pony Society Championships and at the British Show Pony Society Summer Championship shows.
